[ best friends at 2 ]

Is it possible to have a best friend when you are two years old?  If so, then little Miss A and my daughter fit the bill!  Since us mommies are great friends and the girls are 4 weeks apart in age...well, we pretty much forced them into friendship over the past two years.  Thank goodness their personalities seem to mesh well and they love each other!  It had been over a year since I last photographed A and we were definitely due for a session...and a family session at that.  Yes, here I am pretty much about to pop and I'm still working!  So much for taking some maternity leave before the little one arrives.  I guess you could say that I love my job too much and will do what I can to fit a session in.  Enjoy this peek!

 

[ new additions ]

Same day...another post.  I told you that I can't seem to take a break!  This is one of my all time favorite families and I always have such a great time with them...as it is with many of my clients, we have become great friends too!  I have been photographing them since little T was in mommy's tummy and I love watching their family grow.  Since our session together last fall they have added an adorable dog to the family and a baby brother will be coming in January.  I can not wait until their newborn session!  Every session with this family is pure fun--it is so evident that they are full of love and happiness.  We often have many funny outtakes during the session!  Enjoy...

  

[ growing too fast for me ]

I know, I'm supposed to be on maternity leave from photographing sessions, but there are always some special exceptions and well...when you are the one that makes the rules, you can break the rules!  So, with just 2 weeks until my due date I apparently can't seem to slow down. 

Believe it or not, my very first session (if you can call it that) was of these two!  I think that little brother was just about 1 year old...wow does time fly.  I can't believe how big they get each year.  Not only is their family great clients, they are also wonderful friends--what a great mix!

So I definitely owe this mom a bit thank you for being so patient with me.  I am so very late with getting her sneak peek up on the blog!  These three are so much fun to photograph...for this session I went out to their house and between their property and the neighbor next door we had a ton of great spots.  No doubt these three are busy bees and kept me on my toes, but that is what makes the session so fun and the final images so rewarding.  I loved all of the "flowers" that they kept picking for us during the session...I came back with a huge bouquet.  Mom and dad are going to have so many great images to choose from!  Enjoy...

 

[ sucker for blue eyes ]

Everyone probably knows that I am a sucker for blue eyes.  Really, any color of eye looks amazing when the light hits it right...but something about blue just grabs me!  These two adorable girlies have such blue eyes and I love it when I get to photograph them.  Yet another little newborn that was due for her second session in A Year of Art.  Time does fly by!  This family has become such good friends of mine...and I would like to introduce the creative genius behind Addison Saige Designs.  Mom is the mastermind behind all of those adorable hats, headbands and flower clips that I have been photographing.  Her website should be up soon and you better believe I'll be making a big announcement post for her "grand opening".  For now, enjoy some wonderful family images!

This is another family that I have been photographing for a while...and another couple where I photographed their wedding!  Our last session was earlier this year when baby brother was born--crazy to think it was already time for his second session!  These kids are always so much fun and so excited when we do pictures.  I could probably just take them right home with me!  I love this first image...mom and dad are the only ones looking at me and I wouldn't have it any other way.  Just like real life, everyone going (looking) in different directions!  Enjoy...and there are still more peeks to come over the next few days.

I had so much fun with this little guy and his parents.  Crazy to think that it has been almost a year since I last photographed him at his newborn session!  Even though he was in desperate need of a nap, he was such an easy baby to photograph and in a great mood overall.  He gave me so many fun expressions and I just LOVE a baby that doesn't walk yet, they are perfectly content sitting or standing and playing with toys.  I am so thrilled that we were able to fit a session in before my maternity leave because I'm sure next summer he will be literally running around and I'll be lucky to get him to even look in my direction!  Enjoy this peek...I have so many more that I could have shared, but I have to save the best of the bunch for his gallery.

Here is another recent session, with still more to come.  It has been over a year since I photographed this little man and he has grown so much!  He was a bit shy at first but it didn't take him long to warm up.  I just love 2 year olds--they give me the best material during the session, like this first image which I completely love but I couldn't have planned even if I wanted to.  Take a look at these big brown eyes, so captivating!

It is sure great watching families as they grow, would you believe that I actually photographed this couple's wedding?  Enjoy...

 

[ a year of art...completed ]

This session was really all about baby brother as it was the third session for A Year of Art for him.  Hard to believe that I photographed his newborn session a year ago!  Where does the time go?  So, this was one of those sessions where I know mom is worried that it was a flop...I'm hoping that this little peek will assure her that despite some tears and a stubborn two year old (what two year old isn't!?!?) I was able to capture everyone...together and individually.  I have been photographing this family before baby brother and little sister were born and they are always a fun group.  Though it was really all about brother, it was high time for a few family images.  Enjoy!

[ wanna take a walk? ]

When a 3 year old boy grabs your hand and happily goes on a walk with you to who knows where...well, that just seals the deal that I love my job!  I have been photographing this little guy since he was 6 months old each session just gets more and more fun.  He was very excited to play with me and yet again I'll admit that I was a bit worried about keeping up with him, being just 6 weeks from my due date!  We had tons of fun together and mom is so laid back and great which makes the session that much better.  I just love all of my clients!  Enjoy...

P.S. We took most of the pictures near this neat old building on the neighbor's property.  You should have seen the look on his face when we asked if we could use it.  Let's just say that in the past the building was used for...cows. I'll spare you the details!  It just goes to show that any rustic and rundown place works great for a backdrop.
