Love the head of hair on this sweet 6 pounds. A little feisty at first, but I won the battle and she was putty in my hands once she fell into a deep sleep. This is a *new* family to the studio and I can't wait to watch baby E grow! Her parents are very anxious for this peek, so here you are...

I had the pleasure of photographing baby C at just a week old. He was such a tiny little peanut and it made me realize what a difference a few weeks makes. My own "newborn" is a chunky 6 week old now. That is one of the things I love about my job--I have the opportunity to hold and cuddle these brand new little ones! Little man was happiest when he was cuddled in mom or dad's arms, so I was able to capture amazing pictures of them together. I will be sharing more, I promise!
This little guy came to me by a special referral so I just had to squeeze him in during my "time off". So adorable--don't you agree!?!? His dad was so easy going and great to work with--even when little man 'C' wasn't too sure about me and seemed to be doing some teething. You could say that my new toys were definitely initiated with a little drool and chewing. Nevertheless, I was able to capture some great images. I love his age, the 7-10 month category, because they aren't too sure about strangers which gives those great wide-eyed looks. I love a serious, bright-eyed baby! This isn't a sneak peek as his dad has already seen the gallery but I wanted to share a few with everyone else. I look forward to watching this little guy grow with another session in the early summer hopefully!
This client and I have a very special relationship. Pretty much all of my clients fall into the "I would do anything for them" category, but this family is in a category all their own and I love going the extra mile for them. I first met mom almost exactly 2 years ago when I photographed her pregnancy session just 3 weeks after my first daughter was born. I wasn't back to work yet but she had just been referred to me and I couldn't say no. After recently giving birth to my first daughter I understood how special a pregnancy session was for her. Over the past couple of years we have had great sessions! This particular session was originally scheduled for a couple months ago, but between bee stings, the flu and the weather, the session never happened before I gave birth to our second daughter 2 weeks go.
Call me crazy, but with a great forecast in place and me feeling pretty good (despite the lack of sleep!), I contacted mom and set up the session for last week--just 9 days after having my baby! Go ahead...you know you want to say I've totally lost my mind!! The session went great and the boys were so much fun. I'm thrilled that mom was in some of the images as these are timeless moments. Enjoy this peek...and I promise that some images of our little newborn (who is already two weeks old...sniff!) will be coming soon!
Is it possible to have a best friend when you are two years old? If so, then little Miss A and my daughter fit the bill! Since us mommies are great friends and the girls are 4 weeks apart in age...well, we pretty much forced them into friendship over the past two years. Thank goodness their personalities seem to mesh well and they love each other! It had been over a year since I last photographed A and we were definitely due for a session...and a family session at that. Yes, here I am pretty much about to pop and I'm still working! So much for taking some maternity leave before the little one arrives. I guess you could say that I love my job too much and will do what I can to fit a session in. Enjoy this peek!
Same day...another post. I told you that I can't seem to take a break! This is one of my all time favorite families and I always have such a great time with them...as it is with many of my clients, we have become great friends too! I have been photographing them since little T was in mommy's tummy and I love watching their family grow. Since our session together last fall they have added an adorable dog to the family and a baby brother will be coming in January. I can not wait until their newborn session! Every session with this family is pure fun--it is so evident that they are full of love and happiness. We often have many funny outtakes during the session! Enjoy...
I know, I'm supposed to be on maternity leave from photographing sessions, but there are always some special exceptions and well...when you are the one that makes the rules, you can break the rules! So, with just 2 weeks until my due date I apparently can't seem to slow down.
Believe it or not, my very first session (if you can call it that) was of these two! I think that little brother was just about 1 year old...wow does time fly. I can't believe how big they get each year. Not only is their family great clients, they are also wonderful friends--what a great mix!
So I definitely owe this mom a bit thank you for being so patient with me. I am so very late with getting her sneak peek up on the blog! These three are so much fun to photograph...for this session I went out to their house and between their property and the neighbor next door we had a ton of great spots. No doubt these three are busy bees and kept me on my toes, but that is what makes the session so fun and the final images so rewarding. I loved all of the "flowers" that they kept picking for us during the session...I came back with a huge bouquet. Mom and dad are going to have so many great images to choose from! Enjoy...
Everyone probably knows that I am a sucker for blue eyes. Really, any color of eye looks amazing when the light hits it right...but something about blue just grabs me! These two adorable girlies have such blue eyes and I love it when I get to photograph them. Yet another little newborn that was due for her second session in A Year of Art. Time does fly by! This family has become such good friends of mine...and I would like to introduce the creative genius behind Addison Saige Designs. Mom is the mastermind behind all of those adorable hats, headbands and flower clips that I have been photographing. Her website should be up soon and you better believe I'll be making a big announcement post for her "grand opening". For now, enjoy some wonderful family images!
