As I sit and type this blog post it is dreary and raining outside, and frankly a little cool.  A change is in the air and I feel my very favorite season just around the corner.  But...wait!!  Does the calendar still stay August?  This has been the craziest summer ever.  Thank goodness for all of you wonderful clients who have been so flexible with your sessions.  Right now I should be photographing a sleepy newborn, but we rescheduled due to the weather.  I'm crossing my fingers that the sun comes out tomorrow!

Speaking of my wonderful clients, I wanted to share a few of the fantastic custom Session Boxes that I have designed this summer.  These boxes are such a big hit with so many of you!  Completely custom and sized perfect to hold 5x7 prints or your favorite trinkets, they are truly a work of art.  If you haven't purchased one yet, you will!

As if I didn't have enough on my plate right now I have taken on a fantastic project!  A wonderful client and friend of mine is starting a designer line of adorable hats for little girls and boys, she will be adding some other great products to the line over the next couple of months as well.  You all know how much I love the small business owner, so we have partnered together.  J.Passon is going to be doing all of the photography for her upcoming blog and website, marketing materials, etc.  Her blog will be officially launched in a couple of weeks but you don't have to wait until then to order!

I received this picture by email this morning and had to share it on the blog.  This client purchase the Sized Up Wall Collection only rather than do it in framed prints, she did it in canvas.  For a reference point, it is two 24x24 canvases with 6 10x10 smaller canvases on top and bottom.  The canvases were amazing when they arrived from the lab and I couldn't wait to see a picture of her wall.  I have to commend her on how perfectly lined up everything is too!  For those of you who hesitate on ordering canvases...don't think twice--just look how amazing this is!!!  Thanks for the share 'J'!

[ urban tot ]

When it comes to editing and processing pictures, my clients come first which means that I end up with a backlog of personal pictures.  I finally got around to processing some images from an "urban" session I did while we were in Portland, Oregon a couple of months ago.  Now you may be wondering what I mean by "urban"...I wanted to use some locations that had brick, texture, cement, and even a little graffiti.  Now I love my fields, rustic barns and the like, but every now and then a change of scenery is good for rustling up some new creativity and ideas.  If you are looking for a setting like this, don't hesitate to mention it when scheduling your session--I'm sure we can come up with some great local locations.  Enjoy!

 

[ dropped the ball! ]

Okay so I know that most of you are not thinking about Christmas...and I'm not either--well, okay...maybe I am just a little bit!  =0)  In my newsletter I had said that all of the 2009 card designs would be available today.  Well...I dropped the ball yet again!  It is going to be just a little bit longer as finish up the designs and also configure the shopping cart so that your initial card order can be done right online, making things easier for both of us!  For now, here is a peek at one of the many designs available this year...(click to see it bigger).

[ twice the fun ]

I think this just may be one of the most eagerly anticipated blog posts in the history of J.Passon!  I will admit that this was my first time ever photographing twin newborns...and they did fabulous.  At just two weeks old these two were pretty sleepy babes for most of the session.  Mom and dad were such a great help as I definitely needed an extra pair of hands.  Enjoy these sweet two!

The owners of what you may ask?  This wonderful family is the one that graciously allows me the use of their property for many of my sessions...for those of you who have been at my Main St. East Hartford location, this is them!  Though it seems like I have photographed at their place quite a bit this year, it has been over a year since we did a session for them.  Long overdue, we finally got it on the calendar and had a great time!  As you can see, the girls were very busy with several different outfits and I have quite a batch of images to sort through--there will be no shortage of pictures, that is for sure.  Enjoy this peek...

[ all you need is a cookie ]

I have been so blessed to have the BEST clients and BEST sessions this year!  It has been over a year since I photographed this little guy and it took him all of 5 minutes to warm up and then he was off and running.  Thank goodness mom and dad were great at keeping up with him since me and my pregnant self weren't able to run after him.  =0)  The key to getting him to sit still was a delicious chocolate cookie (or two or three!).  I had such a hard time narrowing down a few great peeks for the blog...I have SO many favorites that aren't even shown here and I'm pretty sure mom and dad will have a tough time deciding on what images will grace the walls of their home.  By the way, Happy Belated Birthday to little man J and his dad!  Enjoy this peek...
