Sigh...okay, I completely admit that I am a total failure when it comes to posting more images of our new little one.  Quite honestly all of my "free" time is spent working on client holiday orders and well, I don't want to rush the processing of my own images and it is so hard to pick my favorites to post.  I think that some of you may come literally knocking on my door if I don't get something up here soon!  I know I keep saying to check back...but really, do check back in the *near* future.  Eventually I will have an amazing slideshow of all of my favorites--and the slideshow itself will be a sample of an incentive available to clients in 2010!

Holiday Greetings...and deadlines!

Deadlines for holiday orders are quickly approaching--despite the fact that it has felt like summer the past two days!

November 15th: Portrait Folios, Jewelry/Accessories, Canvases (canvases ordered after this date may not arrive in time for Christmas)

December 1st: Prints (ala cart and Wall Collections) and Holiday Cards

**Processing time for all orders is approximately 2 weeks from when payment is received.**

If you are in need of the contact sheets from your session or require any assistance with placing an order, please contact the studio.

[ extra mile ]

This client and I have a very special relationship.  Pretty much all of my clients fall into the "I would do anything for them" category, but this family is in a category all their own and I love going the extra mile for them.  I first met mom almost exactly 2 years ago when I photographed her pregnancy session just 3 weeks after my first daughter was born.  I wasn't back to work yet but she had just been referred to me and I couldn't say no.  After recently giving birth to my first daughter I understood how special a pregnancy session was for her.  Over the past couple of years we have had great sessions!   This particular session was originally scheduled for a couple months ago, but between bee stings, the flu and the weather, the session never happened before I gave birth to our second daughter 2 weeks go.

Call me crazy, but with a great forecast in place and me feeling pretty good (despite the lack of sleep!), I contacted mom and set up the session for last week--just 9 days after having my baby!  Go ahead...you know you want to say I've totally lost my mind!!  The session went great and the boys were so much fun.  I'm thrilled that mom was in some of the images as these are timeless moments.  Enjoy this peek...and I promise that some images of our little newborn (who is already two weeks old...sniff!) will be coming soon!

Poor neglected blog...and blog readers!  I promise that there are several blog posts coming soon...let's just say that the last 2 weeks have been a constant "newborn session" around here and I have been trying to get my little one to cooperate for me.  Needless to say she is definitely a photographer's daughter--already putting up a fight about having to be in front of the camera.  She has defied pretty much every general "newborn" rule and well, it is a good thing that she is so sweet and that we love her to pieces because her many sessions have been quite the nightmare!  I'll post some more peeks of her first 2 weeks as well as some other studio info, news, etc.

I love it when a client emails me pictures of their walls--featuring the works of art that they ordered.  First is a 20x40 gallery wrap canvas of two adorable sisters!  The colors on this canvas were amazing!!

Next we have a wall gallery of 4 11x14 prints of two of the cutest brothers.  This is a great example of how to mix color and black and white in the same gallery.

 

 

[ day 4 ]

Today was the first of many "sessions" of our new little one over the next week or so and I wanted to share one quick image.  Judging from the many emails and notes from friends, family and clients, you are all very anxious to see some pictures!  I'm having lots of fun trying some new skills and techniques that I learned at the workshop I attended last month.  Our little girl is doing great and was quite a champ for her first session at 4 days old.  More to come...

[ just another reason ]

Each session with a client is always another reminder as to the reason why I do what I do--a reminder of the ability I have to forever capture a moment and preserve it for my client.  As if that wasn't enough of a constant reminder, I now have yet another reason to remind me that a picture is worth a thousand words and more, another reason to remind me that I am pretty sure I will be buried with a camera in my hand.

This reminder arrived in the form of our new baby girl that was born Monday afternoon.  Little baby Claire has joined our family and we will never be the same!  Right now my mind is taking constant snapshots to record every moment of time that surely fleeting.  I'm amazed that I have to little girls to remind that life is a precious blessing and everyday moments are the ones worth preserving.  Becoming a mother again has already made me a better mother to our 2 year old daughter and I know it will make me a better photographer too.

Here are a few snapshots--as I claw my way through the "baby fog" the big guns will come out and I'm sure her newborn "session" will last at least a couple weeks long!  More pictures will be posted in the days to come.  Thank you for letting me share!

[ waiting game ]

While we patiently, um make that impatiently wait for baby girl #2 to arrive I thought I would share a few quick pics from last week.  Since I am behind the camera about 95% of the time it is nice to be included every now and then!  Fortunately for me, my mom is a professional photographer as well (Photos by Kellie) and is here visiting from the west coast.  We decided to recreate a picture we took when I was pregnant last time--the family walk.  Enjoy...and hopefully this little one will make her debut soon--I know many clients, family and friends are anxious to hear!
