Wow. This blog has been pretty much neglected. Yes, we are still alive and yes we still exist. I could offer up a good deal of very legitimate excuses reasons but I will spare you the drama. This year is already proving to be a pivotal year in my personal life as well as in regards to the studio and the direction that it will go as we move forward. The business, artist and studio in general will remain the same so rest assured! Over the next few months new life will be breathed into the internet presence of the business. Very exciting, but very time consuming as well so please be patient. Being a perfectionist means that it often takes me longer to complete projects and tasks, but the final result yields a product that I am more than thrilled about.
Also coming this year are a few new products and options to the J.Passon product line...as well as new tools to help you decorate your home with art! Also, if you didn't catch it in the studio newsletter that went out last month...There will be no price increases this year.
During these bitter cold months, a great deal of my office hours will be spent working behind the scenes. First up will be a brand new *bigger* and *better* custom blog...yippee! The next few weeks will pretty much be silent on this blog as I work on designing and setting up the new one. Keep your eyes out for an email announcement when it is up and running...you won't want to miss it.
While I have your attention...how about a little peek at a reminder of how fast those little babies grow. The first image of Baby B is from her newborn session last July and the other two are from her most recent "sitting" session about a week ago. I love my job!
Wouldn't you know that just as I was about to post the second half of "Christmas" as well as get together some other posts showing off gorgeous client products...my main computer decided to breathe it's last breath. It must have known that there is a new computer out waiting in the wings. It looks like Christmas will be hanging around until the end of January (at least on this blog!). The studio office will be closed until January 24th which is also when the new computer will up and running. Posts between now and January 24th will be few and far between.
There are many new things in store for this coming year. I have learned not to make promises as to when they will actually happen as it seems my plans for timing never work out! Just a few items on the docket are a brand new (and bigger!) blog, completely new and updated website and a few new product offerings. Oh and all session fees and product pricing will remain the same as last year!
Happy New Year!
Yes I know, the most current set of holidays are over. I refuse to accept it though and I am still hanging on to the few (okay, multitude) of pine needles falling off of our gorgeous but very dead tree in the living room. Not usually one to drag out the process of putting the decorations away, we can't seem to find the time or energy to tackle that project quite yet!
I thought I would share a glimpse into our home at Christmas time as well as show off some of my own personal prints and products throughout the house. This will give you an idea of how to incorporate your prints and products from J.Passon no matter what time of year it is. Check back tomorrow for part two!
It would seem that about half of the year there is not enough time in the day to keep the blog updated. We are finally just about caught up with all of the final orders for the year. This has been an incredibly busy year and I have loved each and every moment working with my fantastic clients. The last few months there have been so many great custom products that have come in that I just have to share them!
First up is an adorable necklace that a recent newborn client ordered. I love that it is simple and understated...I need to order one for myself!
Next are several Session Boxes that hold gorgeous 5x7 prints from each session...I love designing these for clients and it is amazing how each and every box is truly unique for the client.
Finally, one of my favorite products! The Portrait Folio is a classy and high end way to display your favorite prints from the session. Custom created in your choice of colors, it is truly made just for you! This is a quad 4x6 folio that a newborn client ordered. When you order a quad you have several display options. Showcase all 4 prints or choose to show just two at a time. So versatile and full of style!
It is pretty safe to say that with Thanksgiving just days away, something that everyone can be thankful for is new life. I thought that this post was quite fitting, given the current holiday. I introduced her below, but meet the newest addition to the J.Passon studio family, and my last session of the year.
Don't let her fool you though, I had another magician on my hands! She looks amazingly sleepy in each and every image but it was quite a feat getting her that way. I have this tendency to accept the challenge of a newborn and well, I just have to win. Not competitive by nature but a newborn sure brings it out in me. Something so small, sweet and peaceful is so powerful! Needless to say, I won the overall challenge (with a few battles along the way). This family is so wonderful and I have enjoyed working with them over the last couple of years. Look at big brother! I sure have a thing for 2 year olds and he was no exception...he has the most adorable squishy cheeks and I could really just photograph him all day. I am very much looking forward to the next two sessions in A Year of Art for Baby Q as I'm pretty sure she is going to be just as adorable and fun as big brother.
Enjoy this peek into their session and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
With Thanksgiving approaching, I must stop and thank my clients. Thank you. Simple and pure. There is no way to thank each of you for everything. I am so thankful for a job I love, for clients that are a joy to work with and most of all, for the opportunity to take life's sweet moments and create art that will be around for decades to come. Today I am especially thankful for a sweet newborn. Here is the newest addition to the studio family! Much more to come of her and her wonderful family and oh-so-adorable 2 year old brother. Have a wonderful week!
Though this little munchkin looks peacefully and sound asleep I can assure you that he wasn't...at least for very long. At 9 days old he was the most alert and fidgety little one I have photographed (aside from my youngest who barely slept through her newborn sessions!). His restfulness actually helped move me along into changing his position often since I had to find the perfect spot where he would settle into a deep sleep for at least a few minutes. We worked hard for not quite 2 hours and have such a great selection of images! In fact at the end of his session I was determined to do a particular setup and it was one of mom's favorites that she chose for the announcement. Good thing we stuck it out and won him over. I'm looking forward to watching him grow...for now enjoy the sweet surrender of a newborn baby.
Okay, maybe a lot of love! Please welcome the newest J.Passon client...sweet, 7 day old Baby N. Oh yeah, I guess mom, dad and big brother deserve a welcome as well! He was such a cute little pumpkin and slept like a dream in mom and dad's arms. The entire family was so great and easy going, the best kind of client! I'll feature some more individual images of baby in a few days. I am almost just about caught up with the blog! Thanks for looking and enjoy...
This little fella took a late afternoon nap, thus moving our session time later than planned. I'm so glad he did! That gave the sun a chance to come out from behind the clouds and start the slow decent for the evening. The golden lighting goes just perfect with the setting, a gorgeous mom and babe and their amazing bond. I just love the fact that he loves to cuddle with mom which allows me to capture some tender images...and I must point out how amazing mom looks! If you need any help with clothing for a session, take some pointers from her...and maybe she will let you borrow her boots. I love them and she had a different pair for each outfit! Still more peeks to come on the blog...enjoy.
